Memories of December

Just like that 2014 is over, feels like it went by so fast but also feels like it's been forever. It may be hard to understand but that is my sentiments towards 2014. I made the biggest move of my life and will be forever thankful for the countless blessings I received.

As we enter upon the new year, I've imposed some resolutions for myself which sounds cliche but who cares. I've written down goals for 2015, which I never did in the past years, nothing crazy over the moon goals but goals nonetheless. My top priority would be my career, moving in Vancouver made me realise that even though i've been baking for almost a decade, I still have so much to learn professionally. I know now that I'm deeply motivated by passion, and hard work will get you places.

I've also come to realise that I sometimes focus on superficial things, be it material things or random musings online. I'm taking a step back (just a little) from the digital world and focus more on hobbies that don't cost a thing. My family has decided to read as much books from the Top 100 books to read in a lifetime. It's a chance to widen once perspective and to enjoy the simple things in life, like going to the library and borrowing such books. Yes, ebooks are widely available, but nothing compares to the the feeling of holding a books and scanning through the pages by hand, getting it for free (even just a a few weeks) is an added bonus.

Blogging recipes is not on my top priority unfortunately. I've come to realise that as much as I love to make things and photograph them, making a detailed instruction on how to recreate my recipe takes so much time and effort that I end up prolonging such task.  Besides, there is an abundance of food blogs in this day and age, my absence of recipe post won't make much of a difference. Instead, I will still make things, photograph them and post them, and not worry as much about the details of it. So yes, this will probably be a blog about my photographs of food, rather than an actually food blog.

These are some of the cakes I made during Christmas, before the craziness begun.
